Lab Automation Specialist

Your mission
  • Provide product installation, training, service, and support to Minitube customers in person, remote computer sessions or by telephone. Troubleshoot and repair technical issues. As part of a team, provide 24/7 customer support.
  • Perform and document QC, setup, and configuration of technical spermatology equipment prior to shipment, and in office diagnostics and repair of equipment. Interface with other departments and third-party vendors to ensure proper system configuration and functionality.
  • Assist software engineering department by providing critical feedback on software compatibility and functionality. Provide suggestions for software improvement/enhancement.
  • Provide feedback to assist with product research and development by submitting ideas to fulfill customer equipment needs. Assist in development and testing of new technical products.
  • Stay current with changing computer and microscope technologies to provide the best possible solution to meet customer needs.
  • Work with purchasing department to maintain adequate microscope and computer inventories to reduce delivery lead times for technical products.
  • Work directly with the sales department to identify the optimal system configuration based on customers’ requirements and site construction.
  • Consultation with customers at the customer site to provide adaptations in processes and create efficient workflows. 
  • Work in a team environment almost 100% of the time.  
Your profile
Qualified candidates should possess a minimum of a 4-year degree in Animal Science, Animal Reproduction, Biology, Microscopy and Computer Science or a related field and/or have a minimum of 3 years’ work experience in a related field.
General Lab Process and Lab Equipment Experience, Presenting Technical Information, Equipment Maintenance, Conceptual Skills, Quality Focus, General Consulting Skills, Control Engineering, Production Planning, Technical Zeal, Job Knowledge, Communication, Independent but also work in a team environment effectively.

Salary range
Salary based on education and experience. Non-exempt position with wages starting at $25 per hour plus benefits package, including health, dental, vision and 401K. Paid vacation and holidays.
 
Supervisor: 
Lab Automation Manager

Full time position: 
40 hours per week, Monday – Friday 8:00 to 4:30, Weekend hours as needed.
 
Travel: 
Up to 60% travel is possible. Expense reimbursement and company supplied vehicle as necessary for travel.
