Your mission
Be the expert on all in house manufacturing equipment and the processes they perform.  As part of the management team lead all manufacturing operations to use best practices, meet ISO standard requirements, to produce quality products efficiently, meet inventory stock and turn goals, adhere to safety policies, and operate to meet budgetary goals.  Special emphasis on leading company initiatives involving acquiring and implementing new technology and capabilities including equipment automation.
Your profile
Qualified candidates should possess a minimum of an Associate degree in a related field, Bachelor’s degree preferred, and multiple years of experience at various levels in manufacturing organizations with a record of progressively increasing responsibilities including leadership responsibilities.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversight of all manufacturing equipment and processes. 
    1. Main current processes include blow molding, injection molding, extrusion molding and packing and assembling processes.
 
  • Effectively and efficiently manage manufacturing functions within the Manufacturing Department, including:
    1. Maintain inventory levels to meet customer needs. 
    2. Drive process improvements on machines and labor-saving initiatives. 
    3. Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems.
    4. Direct all department activity to comply with ISO standards.
  • As part of the Manufacturing management team provide leadership to support employee performance 
including:
  1. Establish continuous training and development including technical training. 
  2. Help develop a skilled high performing manufacturing team that adheres to Best Practices, added value and continuous improvement goals. 
  3. Set department objectives and review/assess ongoing performance deficiencies and recognize outstanding performances. 
  4. Monitor the completion of tasks, adherence to quality standards and overall good work practices.
  • Support Manufacturing operations that result in the efficient use of all materials including raw goods/materials,  repair/maintenance supplies, and tools.
  • Direct the maintenance, installation, updating and repair manufacturing equipment as necessary. 
  • Supervise direct reports within department.
  • Participate with HR and other members of management in hiring, coaching, and disciplining staff in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Work as part of the management team to share ideas and improve operations, recommending, supporting, and implementing continuous improvement activities, process, and procedure improvements to optimize results and improve quality of product. 
  • Promote and adhere to safety in workplace. Instruct workers to follow safe work practices and enforce health and safety regulations. Promote safety awareness and ensure workers are trained or certified as required. Correct unsafe acts and conditions and ensure equipment is properly maintained. Report and investigate all accidents/incidents. 
  • Fully support ISO requirements and objectives. 
 
PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
  • Design, install and maintain manufacturing systems to meet production goals for quality and efficiency. 
  • Develop training programs that equip a well-trained staff that are able to perform all of the duties of this department.
  • Support and enforce all safety related policies and procedures
  • Meet cost objectives for department operations.
  • Complete all required training and skill development requirements.
  • Meet performance objectives that may be established for manufacturing processes.
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. 
  • The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands or arms, operate a computer, and climb up to 20 feet.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust to focus.
  • This employee must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and push/pull up to 500 pounds.
  • Must be able to see tools and materials to be assembled, and equipment/machinery in operation.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license without significant restrictions.
  • Able to utilize all methods of transportation including car, airplane, train, bus, etc. and travel internationally.
 
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • This role operates in a professional office environment with manufacturing and warehousing operations within the same facility. 
  • This role requires moving throughout the entire facility to work with other staff and to perform all the tasks of this position.
  • The production floor is an industrial manufacturing environment that is, at times, noisy and with constant running of molding machines.  Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required for all production related positions, which may include hard hat, steel-toed shoes or boots, hearing protection and approved eye protection.  Additionally, a face shield, latex or nitrile gloves, and a hard hat will be worn on occasion.
  • For safety reasons, steel toe shoes are required to be worn at all times working in the warehouse and production area. 
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • This work environment includes the use of pallet jacks, packaging equipment, scales, vacuums, hand tools and safety equipment. 
  • This role works with some hazardous materials including chemicals and cleaning solutions and solvents
  • This job operates in a warehouse environment and requires being certified to operate a powered forklift. 
  • The role operates in temperatures between 65° - 90° Fahrenheit, with noise levels above 85 decibels possible.
 
ADDITIONAL NOTES
Travel: Travel is required including to industry events, trade shows,  and company and vendor facilities,  around the world including Europe, China, North America, South America.
